The Tower of London is currently home to the Crown Jewels. Over its history, this fortress has been a royal residence, a menagerie, a prison, and a place of executions. It is hardly surprising that it has a history of spookiness. Reported sightings of ghosts include various ancestors of the British royal family. They include one of Henry the VIIIs wives, Anne Boleyn, beheaded in the 1500s and buried at the Tower. Her ghost is reportedly spotted carrying her head under her arm.
