Fondly known as the “Castle of the Rockies”, the Banff Spring Hotel is a massive and majestic place to stay. You can enjoy everything that the mountains, hot springs, and fine hotels have to offer. First built in the late 1800s, there are more than a few reports of encounters from guest and staff from the past. It seems not everyone has fully checked out of the building. Some experiences are creepy, such as people feeling frozen and paralyzed while sleeping. Others are friendly – there is reportedly a bellhop that appears to lend a hand when needed.
