23. Xiapu Mudflat, Fujian Province
The mudflats of Xiapu on China’s east coast are impressive in their visual impact and the way of life. Depending on the time of year seaweed may be being harvested and dried on the bamboo stakes. Shellfish and fish are also gathered. The largest mudflat in China, the Xiapu mudflat covers 40 square kilometers.
